Question:

Hi: I have a 1997 Dutchman Class C/F350 and am looking to purchase the items to tow my 2010 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. It has a Class III receiver and 7 way connector. Looking for a ballpark of what Ill need to spend. Appreciate any feedback you can provide. Thanks

To successfully flat tow your 2010 Wrangler Unlimited, you'll need a tow bar, base plates, safety cables, wiring that allows the taillights on the Jeep to work along with those of the motorhome, a braking system and possibly a high/low adapter.

For base plates, go with the Roadmaster # RM-521448-5 and for the tow bar, I really like the Falcon All Terrain, # RM-522. An all terrain tow bar is self centering and non-binding which allows you to connect and disconnect without the car needing to be perfectly centered behind the motorhome on perfectly level ground.

For safety cables, the wiring kit and a storage bag for the tow bar, Roadmaster offers a convenient kit, part # RM-9243-1. For a braking system a permanently mounted system like the # RM-8700 Invisibrake is recommended. Once installed, there's almost nothing in the way of setup that needs to be done to ready the system for each trip. If you prefer a portable system that's easily swapped between vehicles, the Even Brake, part # RM-9400 could be a better option for you, especially if you expect to go with a new vehicle in the next couple of years. For either option, you'd need a stop lamp switch, part # RM-751490 and if you decide on the Even Brake, you'll need a # RM-9332 outlet kit.

And for a high/low adapter. Roadmaster tells us that when the base plate kit I recommended was installed on a Wrangler with the stock 255/75R17 tire size, the base plates were 14-3/4 inches from the ground. If the receiver on your motorhome is +/- more than 3 inches from that height, you'll need an adapter to level it.

I've linked to our selection of adapters, as well as to install videos that you'll find helpful. I can't speak to the prices right here because they can change daily, but I've linked you to the product page for each item I recommended above, where you can see current pricing,.
