Solution for Difficult To Remove Fastway Weight Distribution System Spring Bars
Question:
I purchased a 28foot Coachman travel trailer that had a E2 94-00-0800 round bar hitch included with it. He said he had purchased it from you. As well as myself have purchased numerous items from etrailer. I have mounted the hitch to my 2015 Ram 1500 2whd as per ALL of your instructions both printed and u tube All my numbers are right on specs. When I mount the spring bars for towing I raise the pickup up with the trailer connected as instructed. I dont raise it to the maximum height of the jack, but what I think is high to connect the spring arms. I still have to use the supplied tool to get them up onto the bracket. But I get them on it. Taking them off is another story... I raise both units up the same as when connecting the spring arms but there is still too much tension on them to just pull them off the brackets without really pulling or taking something to jar them. This doesnt seem normal?? If you are trying to arrive late or leave early in an RV park I might not be welcome back. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

According to Fastway, this can happen occasionally if your trailer jack doesn't have quite enough lift travel to take enough tension out of the bars to easily remove them. If you place a block under the foot of your jack before lifting the trailer tongue/rear of vehicle, that will provide the additional lift necessary to take enough tension off the spring bars so they are easier to disconnect.
