You can definitely use the Tekonsha OEM Replacement Wiring Harness # 22117 on your 2017 Toyota Tacoma so that you have a fully functional 7-Way. You will just need to connect the following wires from the harness to the following functions of your brake controller:
Blue - 7-Way Output to Trailer
Black - 12V Power
White - Ground
Red - COLD Side of Stop Light Switch (only gets hot when brake pedal is pressed)
If you already have a 4-Way installed on your Tacoma then you'll want the Universal Wiring Kit # ETBC7 instead. This plugs into your 4-Way and then gives you 4-Way and 7-Way connectors plus it comes with enough wiring for you to make the 7-Way fully functional. This would be much easier than installing that whole OEM kit simply because you just plug it into your 4-Way and then route some wiring up to the front of your vehicle.
Attached are installation instructions for both wiring options that you can check out. I also recommend picking up the Curt # C57202 and Pollak # PK12711U mounting brackets for an easy way to place the connector(s) next to your hitch receiver.
