Does the Stromberg Carlson 4000 Series 5th Wheel Tailgate Sit Flush with Bed on 2002 Ford F-250

Question:

Hi, Im wondering if this would fit flush with top rail of a 2003 Ford F250 Superduty so it can be used with the option and a tonneau cover? I have a different model CS gate and it rests a bit higher than the bed rails at the back.

I spoke with my contact at Stromberg Carlson and she stated that on a 2002 Ford F-250 the 4000 series tail gate, # VG-97-4000, will sit flush with the bed rails on the truck. You should not have a problem with the tonneau cover. On the sides of the tailgate where it is the tallest, it measures 23-3/4 inches tall.

Since you do have a tonneau cover you may be interested in adding the Insert Kit, # 4000-V, for added security when not towing the 5th wheel.
