Can the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE 4 Bike Platform Rack Be Used with a Hitch Extender

I thinking of buy this bike Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE 4 Bike Platform Rack - 2 Hitches - Frame Mount - HR1400Z Would this work with a 19 inch extension? We had a bike rack with 1 1/4 to 2 inch hitches and the tube for the bike rack bent down and two of the bike fell of and we’re damaged. We have a truck with a slide in camper that has a about a 31 inch over hang from the pumper to the end of the camper. If you do not think this bike rack is going to work or not strong enough please e mail me on what you if my work Thanks

The use of a hitch extender will most likely reduce the tongue weight capacity of your setup. This has little to do with the bike rack. The Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE 4 Bike Platform Rack part # HR1400Z weighs about 100 lbs so the weight of this and all bikes must be under the tongue weight capacity of hitch extender.

The weight capacity of the hitch extender should be clearly marked. In other words, the question should be can the hitch extender hold the weight of the bike racks. There isn't any one bike rack that will work better with a hitch extender than another so you just need to verify you are under the weight capacity of the hitch extender.

The most heavy duty hitch extenders we offer are the TorkLift SuperTruss Hitch Extensions like part # TLE1521 but theses require a certain type of trailer hitch which i'd need to know the year, make, and model of the vehicle to confirm.
