Troubleshooting Damage to Top Rubber Strip on Thule AeroBlade Crossbars Using Kayak Carrier
Question:
I transported a kayak using the Thule Stacker for the first time, and noticed that the top cover strip on the aero blades were a little damaged from the kayak. Is there anyway to prevent that? Was it a result of over tightening? And will a damage strip cause more wind noise?

Expert Reply:
The top strip of the aero blades shouldn't have been damaged so it does sound like overtightening. If you want to prevent that in the future you can be careful not to overtighten and you can use foam blocks like # MPG162 along with the Stacker if the kayaks are causing damage.
