How To Convert 4-Way On 2019 Ford F-150 to 5-Way Trailer Connector
Question:
I have a 2019 F150 with factory 4 flat pin connector but my new boat trailer has a 5 flat pin for surge brakes. Which wire color in the wiring harness do I tap into for this 5th pin? Where is this at? Do I splice behind the tail light? Is it in one of the harnesses? Thanks!

The only thing you need to convert the 4-way trailer connector on a 2019 Ford F-150 to a 5-way trailer connector is the Tow Ready 4 Pole to 5 Pole Trailer Wiring Adapter part # 20036 which is mostly plug-n-play though you will need to run the blue wire to the vehicle's reverse light circuit. This can indeed be done behind the tail light assembly.
