Why Is the Thule WingBar Evo Roof Rack for a 2019 Kia Niro Only Rated for 165 Lbs
Question:
I am wondering about the Thule Wingbar Evo roof rack. On their website, the roof rack gives a maximum of 220lbs. I have the 2019 Kia Niro and within the manual it states that my roofs capacity is 220lbs. Why is it that when I go to the package on your website, it only lists the weight capacity as 165lbs? What am I missing? Thank you!

In regards to a roof rack, you will be always be limited by the lowest rated component which in this case is the mounting feet and they are rated at 165lbs. The Thule WingBar Evo Crossbar System part # TH711220, part # TH460R, and part # THKIT4076 which is a fit for a 2019 Kia Niro is still an excellent option though and as there is not one available with a 220 lbs weight capacity is what I recommend.
