Electric Trailer Brakes Compatible with 10 Inch Hubs
Question:
Have an old 1996 camper with dual axles. The electric brakes went kaput and the standard 10inch replacements have a 4.5inch center to center bolt pattern but the axles have 3inch center to center mounting holes. Will the 7inch electric brakes work? or is there an off-size 9inch model somewhere that will fit?

Expert Reply:
The 7 inch brakes fit brake flange # 4-34 which has hole spacing 2-7/8 inches on center. The 10 inch assemblies have a the same 2-7/8 inch on center mounting holes # 4-35. It sounds like your brake flange is likely the standard size and you will simply use standard 10 inch brake assemblies like # AKEBRK-35.
There is not a 9 inch assembly or any other assembly that will fit 3 inch on center flanges, so I hope you have the standard 2-7/8 inch flange.
