Determining 5th Wheel Hitch Height for Level Towing

How do you figure out what height adjustment setting you need for the trailer before installing?

The Curt Q24 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch for Ram Towing Prep Package - Dual Jaw - 24,000 lbs # C16545-16021 should be set up to the top height initially. This will ensure you don't have issues with the side rails of your truck if you can't measure first. Then you will adjust down as you can to make trailer level when towing.
If you can measure, then you will measure from the ground to the bottom of the flat part of the pin box not the pin itself when the trailer is level. Then you will measure from the ground to the bed of your truck and then the bed to the top of the hitch. You want those to be the same measurement or just slightly higher on the hitch/truck side to account for hitching height.
