Will Pro Series Trailer Hitch Mount Cargo Carrier # PS1040100 Clear Spare on a 2012 Toyota RAV4
Question:
I purchased the Pro Series 1040100 from a local dealer. They told me it would fit a RAV4 2012 providing enough clearance for the rear tire mount. Is this correct? I was planning on using this for deer hunting this Fall. I want to bag and secure the deer on the trailer without having to load it on the roof. Is this possible?

The local dealer should have given you some measurements to go by. But, on the hitches we have installed on your generation of the Toyota RAV4 we have determined that from the hitch pin hole center out to clear the spare tire it is approximately 7 inches.
The Pro Series cargo carrier, # PS1040100, measures 12 inches from the hitch pin hole to the nearest part of the carrier so it will clear the spare.
The carrier you have referenced, # 63153, measures 12-3/4 inches to the nearest edge of the carrier so it will clear the spare. I have included a link to the installation instructions and a video review of the carrier for you.
