Furrion Vision S Cameras Wont Power On With 2019 Chevy Silverado

Question:

I am trying to install a back-up camera on my 2017 KZ connect C201RB with pre-wired furrion adapter. I had tried the camera with a 12 Vdc power and it works. I then installed on the adapter. I found out that the camera wont be powered at all. I tried reverse on my pickup. I tried jump the battery and the marker lights. Al the marker lights are on but the camera. The furrion adapter is connected to blue/white positive electric wire behind the cover plate. I looked into 2018 Connect manual and it says that the pre-wired adapter is for back up only. My 2017 does not have power during the backup. I prefer to wire it as an observation camera. What should I do to achieve it? 2019 Chevy Silverado

The Furrion Vision S Wireless RV Backup Camera System part # FOS43TASF will work on a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado but you need an adapter, the 7-Way Vehicle Power Adapter Cable for Furrion RV Observation Camera part # FR87PR. The running light circuit does not have enough power for the cameras on this particular truck which is why this adapter was created.

Another more permanent solution would be to splice in the PWM Filter # VGR64VR behind the camera to provide a steady current for proper operation.

To wire the camera for observation you'll simply need to splice into the running light circuit instead of the reverse light circuit. To do this you can splice into the wiring that runs to the lights on your trailer that only receive power when your headlights are on. Once your camera is spliced into the running light circuit you'll just need to turn on your headlights to power the camera as needed.
