Recommended E2 or E4 Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution for a 24.5ft Apex Travel Trailer

Question:

Looking to replace a 25+yo Reese WDH 800lb trunion w/friction sway bar. I had the TT and TV weighed at local gravel bank scale. TT specs from factory are 6k GVWR and dry hitch weight is 461. Scale said TT without some supplies was 4850 lb and hitch 680 I have 2 6v batteries and had 100lb in rear bed of truck to simulate load. So presuming TT weights are 5000/680, do you think the E2 800k would be sufficient or moving up to the E4 1000k a better choice. Also how much better is sway control for both E2 and E4 compared to the single side friction sway bar? While I dont have any major sway issues now, I would welcome having no sway at all. Thanks in advance for the advice. Fred

Expert Reply:

The Equal-i-zer 4 point friction sway control is widely considered to be the best weight distribution system around. If you are open to this setup it will be your best option. The sway control is much more efficient and the weight distribution is also considered the best design overall.

So that said you'll be the happiest with the part # EQ37100ET by far. Only thing else you'll need is a thin walled socket to install the hitch ball part # ALL643216.
