If the green light on the Tekonsha Voyager Brake Controller, # 39510, is remaining on when the trailer is not connected to your vehicle, it means that the brake controller is sensing a load on the blue brake output (blue) wire. This can occur if green or white corrosion forms inside the trailer connector at the rear of the vehicle.
Check the front and back side of the trailer and connector, inside and out, to ensure it is clean and that corrosion has not bridged between two or more circuits.
An easy way to see if there is a problem in the brake controller, or on the blue wire beyond the brake controller, is to disconnect the blue wire near the back of the brake controller. If you separate the wire and the green light goes out, you know there is a problem on the blue wire between the controller and the rear of the vehicle.
If the green light remains on, there is most likely a problem with the internal components of the brake controller and it will need to be replaced. The light only draws a few milliamps of power so it is unlikely that it would run down the battery unless the vehicle were to sit for a very long time.
