Parts Needed to Install a Brake Controller on a 2011 GMC Acadia without a Tow Package
Question:
I Just purchased a new travel trailer and am trying to install a trailer brake and wire harness for a 7-pin trailer connector. I installed a Curt-venturer brake controller. the install was easy, since the adapter plug is underneath the dash panel. I also installed the 30 amp fuses in the fuse block th energize the controller. The issue I am having now is I dont have the fuses to connect the wire harness on the fuse block, and the spaces on the fuse block dedicated for these fuses, have no fuse attachment point on them. Are my only options limited to buy a new towing ready fuse block, or can I purchase a 7 pin connector, and wire harness to install separately.

You can hardwire the brake controller to your 2011 GMC Acadia. If you do not have one already you will need a 4-way at the rear of your vehicle.
For a 4-way I would recommend you get a Tow Ready Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118451. I attached installation instructions and an installation video for this product for you to check out also.
Now to convert your 4-way to a 7-way you will need a Brake Controller Installation Kit # ETBC7. This comes with everything to hardwire your brake controller in. check out the installation instructions and installation video I attached for this video also.
