Options For Cargo Baskets On 2020 Ford Explorer With Raised Side Rails
Question:
Will the 66in rack fit a 2020 Ford Explorer?

You won't have an issue using a 66" Cargo Basket like part # C18115-117 on a 2020 Ford Explorer as long as you have roof rack crossbars to attach it to. The Curt cargo basket is about 5-1/2 feet long and the Explorer is about 16-1/2 feet long so you the basket won't look too long on the roof if that is what you are worried about. If you have a roof rack with cross bars, the Curt Cargo Basket requires a cross bar spread between 22 and 50 inches apart on center to fit properly. You can measure the cross bar spread by measuring from the center of the front bar back to the center of the rear bar. Please let me know if your cross bar spread is different and I can make additional basket recommendations.
Another option is to use the Surco Safari Rack 5.0 Rooftop Cargo Basket for Factory Rails part # SPS4550-1101 which conveniently attaches to the raised side rails of Ford Explorer and avoids the need for cross bars all together. It measures 50" Long x 45" Wide. It is more expensive compared to the Curt option but you won't need to add roof rack cross bars to the vehicle which can be costly. This is the only basket that fits the raised side rails of the Explorer without cross bars.
