What Else is Needed to Flat Tow a 2014 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited with a Roadmaster Sterling Tow Bar
Question:
Roadmaster 576 All Terrain Tow Bar. what else will I need to install with a 2014 Jeep unlimited ?

Expert Reply:
To pair up with the Sterling All-Terrain, part # RM-576, use the Roadmaster Direct Connect base plate kit, part # RM-521448-5, as long as you have the standard factory bumper. This way you won't have to use any adapters. You do need different safety cables because the ones included with the Sterling don't fit the base plates. Instead use part # RM-643.
You also need a wiring harness and braking system to tow your 2014 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited.
Since the Sterling comes with a connector to install on the Jeep as well as the cable to connect the two vehicles use part # HM56200 and cut off the 4-way and wire it to the Sterling's 6-way. Then for a braking system I like the permanently installed systems so you don't have to set them up each time you tow. The best is either the Stay-IN-Play DUO, part # SM99251, if your motorhome has hydraulic brakes or the Air Force One, part # SM99243, if it has air brakes.
A couple of optional things you might want is a battery disconnect, part # RM-766, since the Jeep is supposed to have the battery disconnected to tow it and a high-low adapter. I linked an article to help you choose a high-low adapter.
