If you're looking for a brake controller that is extremely easy to install on your RV on the 2018 Ford E-450 chassis, look no further than the Curt Echo # C51180. This simply plugs into a 7-Way that has trailer lights and 12V power functions, and then you adjust your brake settings via your Apple/Android smart phone using an app.
For a more traditional controller I recommend going with the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195 because this is a tried-and-true controller that has been praised by many who use it. One of the things that makes it so effective is that it uses an LCD screen that uses words instead of codes to tell you whats wrong. This installs with the Adapter # 3034-P that you'll plug in under your driver's side dash.
If you don't already have wiring for a trailer connector then you can use the Hopkins Kit # HM40975-11998 to splice into existing wiring towards the back of your E-450.
Attached is an installation of the P3, adapter, and the Hopkins kit that you can follow, as well as one for just the wiring. Wiring the Hopkins will be the same whether you decide to go with the P3 or the Echo so this video will be helpful either way.
