How To Use Bike Rack with 1-1/4 Inch Shank On 2 Inch Trailer Hitch
Question:
I am looking for a 2 to 1 1/4 hitch adapter that tightens on the vehicle 2 so that an attached bike rack does not bounce and rattle. Are there any products that do this well?

Expert Reply:
The vast majority of bike racks come with their own specific trailer hitch reducer that usually have built-in anti rattle devices which allows for a bike rack with 1-1/4" shank to be used on trailer hitch with 2" opening. That said, we do have generic options like the Brophy Hitch Reducer part # HT02. In regards to anti-rattle, the best option is the Curt Cam Buckle Stabilizing Strap part # 18050.
