Comparing Different Leaf Spring Sizes for 3500 Lb Trailer Axle
Question:
I am trying to replace the springs and hangers on a 3500 pound axle. I would like more info on the difference between the 27 inch and 25 1/8 inch 4 leaf springs. I would also like to know the differences in the hanger sizes

Expert Reply:
The difference between the two spring lengths really just comes down to what the distance between the hangers is on the trailer. There isn't an advantage to a longer or shorter spring so it's best to just match the length with what the trailer calls for.
The more common size is definitely the 25-1/8 inch part # e54SR over the 27 inch long # SP-210275.
