Does 1997 Chevy K2500 With 4-Way Have Brake Controller Wires Under the Dash
Question:
I have a 1997 Chevy K2500 with the tow package but only see a 4 prong plug in the back , are you aware if it comes with the trailer brake plug already under the dash or do I still need to pull the wires in from the engine compartment? Thanks!

Even with a 4-way already on your 1997 Chevy K2500, there will not be wires for a brake controller that are under the dash so you will need to run them yourself. And to install a brake controller you will need the Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller # ETBC7.
I have added a link to a video install of this kit on a similar model year Chevy truck which should be helpful.
For a brake controller I highly recommend the Even Brk Trailer Brake Controller # TK63VR with Harness # 20127 because this is the best value you can get in a brake controller. It combines a quality proportional controller - which means the brakes on your trailer are set with the same intensity of the brakes on your Chevy - and a great price. I have added a link to a video review for you to check out as well of the Draw-Tite I-Command # 5535.
