Troubleshooting Power Going Into Converter But Not All the Way to the Trailer

I have power going into the converter but cant get power on the trailer side.What am I doing wrong?

It sounds like you've installed a Tekonsha # 119250KIT and are having trouble getting it installed. I would start by checking to make sure that you have the harness properly grounded. Once you've done that, I would check each individual circuit (each pin on the 4 way harness) coming out of the converter box using the circuit tester that came with the kit (if yours didn't come with one the # PTW2993 is a good option) -if you're getting power in but none out, you've most likely got a faulty box.

If you're getting power coming out of the box on all 4 pins, the issue is going to be on your trailer, and not with the wiring harness. If the issue is on the trailer, you'll want go through and make sure that harness is properly grounded, as this could be the cause of the issue.

If you get through those steps and still haven't identified the issue, please let me know and I can help you troubleshoot this one a bit more. If you're using a different part than the 119250KIT, the thought process is still going to be the same in testing- so I would focus on finding where the power cuts out to determine where the problem lies.
