To determine if the Curt 20x48 Cargo Carrier will work with your Explorer, you will need determine if there is enough clearance at the rear of the vehicle. You will need to measure the distance from the hitch pin hole in your receiver to the furthest rearward portion of your bumper.
If this distance is less than the 6 inch hitch pin hole to edge of basket dimension of the carrier, the # C18145 will work great for you.
