No Power To Cameras On Trailer With Furrion Camera System Using 2019 Chevy Truck

Question:

Hello, I have a 2020 Rockwood Mini Lite 2507S, I recently purchased the furrion vision S camera system. The back shark fin was a piece of cake. The marker light cameras are a nightmare. I took off the old light, I have two wires black and white. I’m pretty sure the black is the ground and the white is the power. So the camera has 3 wires. Black-ground , red - light , brown-camera. I connected everything as per the directions... light and camera to the positive white wire in the camper. I get the light on no problem but the camera does not get power. There is a blue LED light that should come on. It didn’t. I tried the other side, same thing...please help!!!! I’m losing my mind here!!! Thank you!!!

The reason you have power to the lights but not the side cameras on the Furrion Vision S Wireless RV Observation Camera System part # FCE48TASL-05 is a problem with the tow vehicle (2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500) not the wiring.

This is actually a known issue on the new GM trucks since they use an odd trailer lighting circuit system which doesn't produce enough power for the cameras. Therefore, you need to use the 7-Way Vehicle Power Adapter Cable for Furrion RV Observation Camera part # FR87PR and that will fix your problem with the cameras getting power.

For a more permanent solution you can splice in the PWM Filter # VGR64VR behind the camera to provide a steady current for proper operation.
