Why Does Reese Outboard Rail Kit for 2019 GMC Sierra Use Bolt Holes with Fishwire
Question:
This outboard style rail design looks great. Just wondering why Reese doesn’t use the threaded holes in the frame rails as opposed to that pull wire thingy? That looks like a real pain in the butt. Any ideas?

Expert Reply:
They pick the holes to use in the frame that make the most sense for the brackets to attach to when they are designing them. If the holes without threads are the best choice based on the bracket design that's what they go with as the small inconvenience of accessing them with fishwired bolts is worth the long term benefit.
I attached an install video for this kit for you to check out as well.
