Troubleshooting 7-Way Install that Afterwards Shows No Trailer Connection on Dash
Question:
I recently replaced the trailer plug on my 2012 f250 ford pickup. Wired everything up and all works except trailer brakes. Getting a notice on dash that no trailer is connected. Everything else works fine. Have the brake controller wired to the lower right connection on receiver plug which is where it he diagram shows it to be. What do I need to do for pickup to recognize trailer and for brakes to work? Also, checked voltage with manual brake control and it appears to be working

I attached a 7-way diagram for you to check and compare how you installed the new one you have. I'd recommend double checking that everything was wired properly and all of the connections are made securely. Also make sure none of the pins are bent or there isn't any corrosion on the trailer side of the wiring.
