Trailer Brake Lights Do Not Work When Connected to a 1997 Dodge Intrepid

1997 dodge intrepid White-Ground Brown-Tail/Running Lights Green-Right Turn/Brake - Remember green has an R in it Yellow-Left Turn/Brake - Remember yellow has an L in it All is ok except I do not have brake lights. Whats up? Could it be the ground?

You have gotten the correct functions for the wiring on a 4-Way. The brake lights not working is strange because they are on the same circuit as the turn signals. It is possible that the brake lights draw more power than the wiring harness and/or vehicle wiring on the vehicle can handle.

There could be a blown stop light fuse in the vehicle. use the owners manual to find its location and determine if that is the issue. Check the main grounds on the trailer connector, trailer side, and the grounds for the lights. Make sure they are attached to clean and corrosion free bare metal surfaces.
