Troubleshooting Uneven Tire Wear and How to Pick Out Replacement Trailer Hubs Shorelander Boat
Question:
my boat is on a shorelander trailer 18ft one axle tires are both wore on the inside as well as outside jacked up trailer and was able to move wheel back and forth must be hub but how do i fix. I have a boat trailer that has 2 ST 185/80D13 on it and I toke on a trip for 4hours of driving it worethe outsides and insides of the tires and the middle was prefectly fine was it over infated or under and what should i replace them with?

In order to pick out the correct replacement hub you will need to remove the hub and get the numbers that are stamped on the bearings. You will also need to know the bolt pattern of the hubs. I attached an FAQ article on how to determine this. Since you have movement on your hub assembly you most likely have damage on the bearing/hub/spindle.
Typically, when tires wear on the outsides it is because they are under-inflated. You always want to inflate your trailer tires to the maximum psi listed on the tire. This will give you the best possible wear, mileage and reliability.
As long as the weight of your boat and trailer is under the capacity for this tire, I would recommend you stay with the same tire size and go with a Loadstar ST185/80D13 Bias Trailer Tire # AM1ST79. The reason is that you know this tire size will not cause clearance issues. You could go to a Loadstar ST205/75D15 Bias Trailer Tire # AM1ST92 like you referenced if you can handle the additional 3 inches of height plus 1/2 inch of width.
