Troubleshooting Troubleshooting Trailer Lighting Now Working

Question:

So running lights come on when car is on but no brake lights or turn signals work for either light. I’ve read every thread about how to fix it. All I see is a ground issue. How do I make my ground connections better?

Try putting the tester on the vehicle side connector again and seeing if any of the circuits light up when the door opens. That is really odd you are seeing that so I wonder if you still have some issues on the vehicle side that need to be worked out.

If the lights ground through the mounting hardware make sure the hardware is cleaned up and free of rust/dirt. You can also run a jumper wire from the mounting hardware back to the main ground wire of the trailer wiring and that will help. If the light grounds through a wire you can run a jumper wire from it back to the main ground wire of the trailer wiring harness as well. I attached a couple help article links on this for you to check out as well.
