Would the Gen y hitch damage my weekend warrior toyhauler when towing?

Due to the shock absorbing properties provided by the Gen-Y # 325-GH-8045 5th Wheel to Gooseneck Adapter Pin Box, it would be much less likely to cause damage than a rigid adapter. If you're concerned about damage, the best alternative is to avoid adapters all together and use a fifth wheel hitch but if that isn't feasible the Gen-Y adapter which is a compatible replacement for the Lippert 1621 pin box would be a good choice.

A better option would be the Reese Goosebox that's compatible with the Lippert 1621 pin box, part # RP85FR. Lippert is a leading manufacturer of 5th wheel frames and because the Goosebox offers both fore-and-aft and lateral cushioning, using the Goosebox won't have any negative warranty implications for Lippert frames. Because of this, the Goosebox is what I'd recommend. The Goosebox is also less expensive and provides a 20K capacity..
