Why Does Progressive Dynamics Converter for Lithium Batteries Not Come With Smart System

Your product details stat that the smart system is not included. What is the smart system and what is its function. Is it required for proper functioning of charger, converter and batteries?

The Progressive Dynamics Inteli-Power RV Converter and Battery Charger part # PD9160ALV as you mentioned does not come with the smart system aka Charge Wizard. The smart system is for non-lithium batteries and is essentially a system that adjusts voltage based on an input obtained from the battery bank. Therefore, the voltage varies based on parameters which is why it cannot be used on lithium batteries as these require a constant a constant 14 volts.

In summary, the smart system is not needed nor will it work for lithium batteries.

Do you sell this item? If I used the smart system for my lead acid batteries could I still use the charger converter for the lithium ion batteries. Would I need a disconnect ?

The Smart System isn't something that's available by itself - in order to have this feature you would need to obtain the charger that includes this interface. For the 60 amp alternative to this unit you would use part # PD9260C. It cannot be used with lithium batteries.
