Will LED Display on Tekonsha Primus IQ Turn Off After 15 Minutes of No Motion

Question:

Should the center led light always be on our shut off after 15 minutes of no use and when the vehicle is turned off after 15 minutes?

After 15 minutes of the vehicle being shut off and there being no motion the LED display for the Tekonsha Primus IQ # TK90160 will be blank as per the instructions (see attached). If you are going out to check on it after 15 minutes make sure that you only peer through the window because it you open the door to look then it's very likely that the motion is waking up the brake controller from power saving mode.

If you're vehicle battery is draining and this started when the controller was installed then I'd recheck all of your connections and make sure you're ground is securely connected to a clean, bare-metal surface. If the controller has been installed for a while now then you'll want to check other things out on your vehicle like if a cabin light is being left on, if your battery needs replacing, or even if you have a bad alternator.
