Low Voltage on Left Turn Signal to Trailer Plug on my 1999 Jeep Cherokee Sport
Question:
I have a 99 Jeep Cherokee Sport and I’m only getting 5 volts to the left turn signal trailer plug. I cleaned the 3 ground wires located behind the left rear panel but did not help. What next? Thanks

It sounds like one of two things. Either you have a draw somewhere along the way that is taking power away from the circuit or the actual circuit isn't sending the right amount. If you use LCD Digital Circuit Tester part # PTW2992 you can test for this. Start just past the fuse for that signal if it is low there the problem or draw is in the fuse panel there if it is still at 12 volts there then work your way down the wire until you find the drop. At that point inspect the wire and repair as needed it could be over the last 20 years the wiring has wore and doesn't have the capacity to send through the full 12 volts.
