Cant Find Brake Controller Install Connector on 2006 Dodgee Ram 2500
Question:
Hi, trying to install a Tekonsha 90160 brake controller in my 06 Dodge Laramie diesel 2500 4WD. Bought a harness to connect it but cannot find blue plug under dash. There is a plug mounted in lower dash but connector is different. What is this connector for? What harness will work ? Thanks

If your Ram 2500 was equipped with a factory trailer connector, the connector for installing a brake controller will be present, but if it it did NOT come from the factory with a trailer connector, the brake controller install connector will not be there and the brake controller would need to be hardwired using an # ETBC7 Brake Controller Installation Kit. I've linked to an installation video showing this kit being used to install a brake controller on an older Dodge Ram, your procedure would be identical.
The plug in question is located in near the white junction box foundd behind the emergency brake pedal as shown in the provided photo. Sometimes it's clipped to the top of the box, making it difficult to see. In some instances it's even fallen down behind the box. Long story short, if you have the OEM trailer connector, the brake control connector is in that vicinity.
The connector shown in your photo is the OBDII (on board diagnostic) connector, which is used to access the engine/transmission control computer, and isn't the connector for a brake controller.
