Longer Shank for Fastway Weight Distribution Systems To Open Tailgate
Question:
I on a Fastway weight distribution hitch. What I need to know is can I get a longer shank for this hitch. The stock length is 12. I need one longer so that I can open my tailgate when I have my trailer hook up. Please let me know if one is available

The original weight distribution shank for the Fastway Weight Distribution systems length is 12" long like you mention. The longest available shank that can replace your existing shank is Curt Weight Distribution Shank part # C17122 which is 18" long overall and 14" from the center of the hitch pin hole to the first hole. This weight distribution shank is compatible with the Fastway systems.
It provides 11-3/4" rise and 7-1/2" drop if you have a round bar system. If you have a trunnion bar system is provides 10-1/2" rise and 7" drop. I have attached a diagram for your reference. I have also attached a photo that shows a previous customer was able to accomplish letting their tailgate down.
