I have great news. We have just what you need to get your 2020 Subaru Outback setup with a brake controller and the corresponding 7-way trailer connector. For this, you are going to need to start with a 4-way and for this I recommend the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness part # 118467 which is plug-n-play and it's a very reliable brand. Then, you can convert the 4-way to a 4-way and 7-way with the 7-Way RV Upgrade Kit for Trailer Brake Controller Installation part # ETBC7L. The two 4-ways plug into one another, the white wire gets grounded, and then you run the black wire to the battery but that's it.
