Cushioned Upgrade for Lippert 1116 Pin Box

Question:

Thanks for the reply, the only Airborne that will fit my Lippert is the 1116 and is 16K. The factory Lippert pin box states on the sticker GVRW is 19k. Would the 21K airborne work for the 1116 pinbox?

The correct 5th Airborne Premium Fifth Wheel Air Ride Coupler to replace a Lippert 1116 Pin Box is part # 5AB-S500-700 which is a direct bolt-on fit. The Lippert 1116 is 12-1/2" wide and the Lippert 1621 is only 12" wide. The 5th Airborne Premium Fifth Wheel Air Ride Coupler will not void the frame warranty. I spoke with Reese about using the Andersen Ultimate and they said there would not be an issue.

The 5th Airborne Premium Fifth Wheel Air Ride Coupler part # 5AB-E1621-610 which has a 21,000 lb weight capacity will work on a trailer with Lippert 1116 Pin Box but you will need the Spacer Kit for Rotating Turret for 5th Airborne and Sidewinder 5th Wheel King Pins part # RP61301. The Lippert 1621 Pin Box has the same bolt pattern as the Lippert 1116 Pin Box but is 1/2" narrower which is why you need the spacer kit.
