Can a 2016 Jeep Renegade Sport Tow a Trailer

Can you use this to tow a small Jon boat without 4x4 using this hitch?

The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C13269 is a fit for a 2016 Jeep Renegade Sport and is capable of pulling a trailer up to 3,500 lbs. That said, it looks like the Jeep Renegade is only rated to tow if you have the 2.4L engine and in which case your towing capacity is 2,000 lbs.
In order to complete your towing setup you will also need a trailer wiring harness, the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness part # 118651 and a ball mount and hitch ball the eTrailer Ball Mount Kit part # 989900.
