How To Use Husky 5th Wheel Hitch On a 2020 GMC Sierra 3500

Question:

Had: 2017 GMC 2500HD Getting: 2020 GMC 3500HD Husky fifth wheel hitch with rails. Got the bracket kit from you when I bought the 2017 2500HD and it worked perfectly already had the rails. Your site indicates that part number HT31564 will fit both my old truck and the one I am getting. My question is that the old kit had only two large plates that attach to the frame one on each side. The image for this part number shows two separate plates for each side. Just wanted to confirm it will fit the 2020 GMC 3500HD model? Thanks!

I do have an option for you but the fifth wheel installation kit for a 2017 GMC Sierra 2500 is not the same as the one for a 2020 GMC Sierra 3500. I checked with Husky and they do not yet have a fifth wheel installation kit for the 2020 model as of March 2020. That said, Husky uses industry standard above bed rails so you can use any industry standard above bed fifth wheel installation kit with the Husky hitch. This means you would not be able to reuse your old base rails but it's your only option at this time.

For this, I recommend the Curt Custom Fifth Wheel Installation Kit part # C16429-204 which is a bolt-on fit with no cutting or drilling into the frame required. Don't forget the Curt 5th Wheel/Gooseneck Custom Wiring Harness part # C56070 which I attached an install video on for you.
