Can a 4-Way to 5-Way Trailer Connector Adapter be Safely Used on a 2013 Ford Edge
Question:
Can this device be used directly on a 2013 Ford Edge and not short out the electrical system?

The 4-Way to 5-Way adapter, # 47515, will work well on a 2013 Ford Edge and will not short out the vehicle electrical system if installed correctly. Installation is straight forward. The 4-Way on the vehicle plugs into the adapter. The blue wire then will connect to a reverse light wire on the vehicle using the included quick splice connector.
This adapter is not circuit protected so if there are shorts on the trailer they could back feed to the vehicle. Make sure the trailer wiring is in good working order with no nicks in the wiring touching metal of the trailer frame.
I have included a link to a video showing a typical installation.
