Yakima HoldUp2 or Kuat Sherpa 2.0 Recommendation for 2017 Jeep Wrangler

Question:

As long as you have the Draw Tite hitch part # 76104 installed on your 2017 Jeep Wrangler both the Yakima Holdup # Y02443 and the Kuat Sherpa # SH22G could fold up and clear spare due to the longer hitch tube this has. Now both racks are really nice and I know you'd be happy overall with either, but the big advantage the Kuat has over the Yakima is weight which is why that's what I would recommend. The Yakima weighs 49 lbs and the Kuat weighs 32 which is a sizable difference. Since they are so similar aside from that the Kuat is the winner. I attached review videos for both racks for you to check out as well.

Your best option would be to replace the factory hitch with the Draw Tite since it's long and won't require a hitch extender. Using a hitch extender ends up cutting the capacity of the hitch it's installed in by 50 percent and adds quite a bit of movement to the setup so it's not ideal. It's an option for sure, but not the best one.
