Yakima HoldUp2 or Kuat Sherpa 2.0 Recommendation for 2017 Jeep Wrangler

Question:

As long as you have the Draw Tite hitch part # 76104 installed on your 2017 Jeep Wrangler both the Yakima Holdup # Y02443 and the Kuat Sherpa # SH22G could fold up and clear spare due to the longer hitch tube this has. Now both racks are really nice and I know you'd be happy overall with either, but the big advantage the Kuat has over the Yakima is weight which is why that's what I would recommend. The Yakima weighs 49 lbs and the Kuat weighs 32 which is a sizable difference. Since they are so similar aside from that the Kuat is the winner. Now both racks are really nice and I know you'd be happy overall with either, but the big advantage the Kuat has over the Yakima is weight which is why that's what I would recommend. Your best option would be to replace the factory hitch with the Draw Tite since it's long and won't require a hitch extender. Using a hitch extender ends up cutting the capacity of the hitch it's installed in by 50 percent and adds quite a bit of movement to the setup so it's not ideal. It's an option for sure, but not the best one.
