Brake Controller and Install Harness for 2016 Ford Explorer with Tekonsha 7-Way # 118272 Installed
Question:
Hi there I purchased your 7 way harness 118272 on my 2016 explorer several months ago and now I want to add a brake controller to my vehicle. Is there an easy way of tapping into this this. I know you suggest getting a three way harness then buy the brake controller 7 way adapter. What are your suggestions? P.S. thank you for all you do! your website and videos are second to none and I refer everyone to you. So even if this email doesn’t get a response just know you’re doing it right!

Your 2016 Ford Explorer does have the factory brake controller install connector under the dash so since you have the # 118272 installed already you'd just need the correct install harness and brake controller. For a harness you'd just need the # 3035-P and then for a brake controller the P3 part # 90195 is what I recommend.
This is one of our best selling brake controller because of how well it works and how easy it is to setup. This is a proportional brake controller that senses the amount of braking the tow vehicle is applying and applies a proportionate amount to the trailer brakes. This will be the last brake controller you buy as it is incredibly reliable, works, well and is easy to use. It can easily be transferred to future vehicles as well.
