Tips Using Curt Echo Mobile on 2019 Ford Ranger with Factory 7-Way

Question:

Want to try out the echo on my 2019 ford ranger with a factory 7-way ...it doesn’t seem that the charge line back to the 7-way works ? And I believe that would be the power supply for the echo...I was wondering if you have heard any thing on this issue at all ... Ford clames the change line works when trailer is detected?

The charge wire of the 2019 Ford Ranger is pretty difficult to use for non-standard applications like the Curt Echo # C51180. It does need to see a trailer connection and it can be sometimes difficult for that to happen. One easy solution is to bypass the wiring and use 10 gauge wire like part # 10-1-1 (sold by foot) through a breaker like # 9510 from the 1:00 position of the 7-way to the positive post of the battery.
