Ball Mount with 3 inch Rise for 2011 Kia Sportage
Question:
Hello. I have a 2011 Kia Sportage with a newly installed 2 inch hitch receiver. I am buying a boat/trailer with a coupler height of 17 1/2 inches. The top of my receiver is 14 1/2 inches, a differential of 3 inches, requiring a 3 inch rise. Most hitch mount rises I find are 2 3/4 inches. Would the 1/4 inch difference be a problem in towing?

Helpful Expert Reply:
Ideally when picking out a ball mount you go with one that allows the towing setup to sit as level as possible. Sometimes that's not possible as every possible rise/drop isn't always available. We do have 3 inch rise ball mounts for 2 inch hitches like the part # C45341 which would work great but most are 2-3/4 inch rise which is odd.
