Weight Distribution System For Camper With 450 lbs Tongue Weight

We have a V8 Honda pilot with a tow weight total of 4500 and a small 22ft camper with a dry weight of 2900/tw450. Should we get the fastway e2 92-00-0600 or the 800? Thank you.

Whenever looking at weight distribution systems it's best to have the total tongue weight of your trailer fall in the middle of the WD rating, that way you have some wiggle room if your tongue weight varies between trips.

The Fastway e2 Weight Distribution w/ 2-Point Sway Control # FA92-00-0600 has a tongue weight rating between 250 lbs - 600 lbs so your camper with 450 lbs is right in the middle, however that is dry weight.

The Fastway e2 Weight Distribution w/ 2-Point Sway Control - Trunnion - 8,000 lbs GTW, 800 lbs TW # FA92-00-0800 you referenced has a tongue weight rating of 400 lbs - 800 lbs, so your trailer is just over the starting point, but again that is dry weight before anything is loaded up.

I recommend that you find out what the loaded tongue weight is going to be so you can find the weight distribution system that will match the trailer. You can use the etrailer Tongue Weight Scale # e99044 to measure without having to go to a weigh station. You should also check out the article I linked about determining trailer tongue weight.

Both of the systems will require a hitch ball, for a 2" Hitch Ball # A-90, or if your trailer has a 2-5/16" Hitch Ball # 19286. A Thin Walled Socket for Equal-i-zer Hitches # EQ70-00-4800 is required to torque the ball to the head.
