Does Lifting Force Consistency of Conventional Ramp Door Spring # 362SA6
Question:
Does this unit have a constant 120 lb pull over the full range of travel? Im looking at a 71inch pull to fully close my ramp application attaching to the ramp at the folding hinge point shown in this picture and was wondering what the force over distance relationship was for this spring design.

When wound properly the 120 lb lifting force of the Conventional Ramp Door Spring # 362SA6 is going to be basically throughout the entire range of the ramp being lifted as you'll feel it. That said, the spring will be helping the most when the ramp is on the ground and as it gets closer to the being closed gravity will affect it less and less which works out perfectly as the pulling force of the spring will begin to diminish at the same time. This is why it's so important to have a professional wind the spring as it's not only dangerous but also important to get it just right. So what that translates into is an easy lift of the ramp at all heights throughout the range.
