Troubleshooting 7-Way Upgrade Kit for 2010 Nissan Xterra with No Brake Lights
Question:
I just bought this kit, took out the old four pin plush and working that wasn’t working. Everything seem to go in fine. I have a seven pin plug in light tester. I’m getting power to the 12v light and the running lights, but no brake lights or either turn signal. I’ve double checked the relays are plugged in all the way and all the other plugs as well. No idea what’s going on now. Thanks!

Since your 2010 Nissan Xterra had a functioning 4-way on it before you installed the 7-way kit part # 118266 that would indicate the wiring of the vehicle should be accurate and something went wrong with the install. Either the connector of the wiring kit isn't seating fully or the pins have an issue that's preventing the connection from being made. Try unplugging everything and plugging it back in. Typically that would clear out and seating issues. Next use a circuit tester like part # PTW2993 to test the pins leading into the 7-way that your 4-way was attached to see if you can get voltage when the brakes are applied. That will narrow down further where the problem could be.
