Will Firestone Ride Rite Air Bags Fit a 2016 Ford F-250 with Demco Hitch
Question:
I have a 2016 F250 6.7L diesel 4x4 short bed that I use to tow my fifth wheel. I have Demco DM8550022 installed using an underbed mounting system. The Demco undermount plates that secure the cross members use the same frame holes as the mounting bracket for the Ride-Rite air bags. Because the air bag bracket attaches to the inside of the frame I think I can still use the same holes but I might need a slightly longer bolt. Perhaps you have seen this before and know the proper way to install the Ride-Rites with the Democo bracket? Ive attached a picture of each side of the frame rail where the jounce is located and you can see the Demco bracket and bolt. Thanks for your help. Eric

The Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs part # F2597 are a fit for a 2016 Ford F-250 4x4 and will work with aftermarket fifth wheel side plates such as those from Demco. The air spring kit will simply use the same bolt for the upper bracket as the one used for the fifth wheel side plate. In some cases, a longer bolt may be needed but after reviewing your setup that does not appear to be the case as the bracket is not very think and so long as you have some threads poking through the nylokc nut you are good to go.
Please note, the Relocation Bracket for Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs part # F5722 is also required for installation because you have a short bed diesel model.
