Are Curt Weight Distribution Spring Bars Compatible with an EAZ-Lift V-5 Weight Distribution Head

Question:

I purchased a 6,500lb travel trailer that came with an Eaz-lift V-5 weight distribution hitch, but no bars. These Curt spring bars look like they would clip in. Would these bars work for the V-5 system?

Although the bars may look like they would fit, the way that they install in the head unit of the system varies between all of the manufacturers and none of them are exactly the same. For that reason the Curt # C17072 bars you're referencing are unlikely to work with your Eaz-Lift V-5 system. Your best bet is going to be replacing the old weight distribution hitch with a new one.

Considering that your 6500-lbs travel trailer likely has a tongue weight in the 650-lbs to 925-lbs range, a suitable replacement would likely be the Fastway e2 # FA94-00-1061 which has a tongue weight range of between 600-1000-lbs. The Fastway e2 system has integrated sway control that will help reduce any trailer sway that might occur when towing your trailer and ultimately provide you with a better towing experience. I would recommend first determining what the loaded tongue weight of your trailer is and then choosing a system that your tongue weight falls towards the middle of the range.

I've also linked our entire selection of weight distribution hitches that would likely be in the above mentioned range to this answer for you to easily find on our site.
