Best Hitch for Cargo Carrier and Bike Rack for 2020 Honda Odyssey

Question:

Which of your hitch options would be best to carry a 2 bike rack and possibly a cargo carrier with my 2020 Honda Odyssey? We use an older 2 inch Thule rack on our other vehicle so I'd like to be able to use it on our new Odyssey as well. How big of a cargo carrier could I tow with it?

The trailer hitch I recommend for your 2020 Honda Odyssey is the etrailer # e98855. The standard 2 inch receiver gives you the versatility to add just about any hitch mounted accessory, like your Thule bike rack as well as a cargo carrier. It is also very easy to install as it requires no drilling.

While the etrailer hitch has a tongue weight capacity of 525 lbs, you're limited to the max tongue weight rating of your Odyssey (350 lbs according to your owner's manual).

You can use a cargo carrier, like the the extremely convenient 24x60 etrailer Cargo Carrier # e98874, so long as you do not exceed the vehicle's 350 lb maximum allowed tongue weight. Mini vans are known for being very low to the ground, but the raised shank on the etrailer cargo carrier brings the platform up to improve ground clearance. For a lock, use # e99047.
